A natural skin care regime

A natural skin care regimeThere has been a significant increase in the sales of natural skin care products over the past couple of years. There are two main reasons for this – Education and Fashion.

The chemicals which cause harm

Firstly we have a better understanding and knowledge of what is good for us. People are now more aware and educated as to what ingredients they consume in their diets and use in their skin care regimes. At times we seem to be inundated with articles and news stories which give us warnings about certain non-natural ingredients and the damage they can cause to our health. Man-made skin care ingredients for example clearly have issues. Many products contain chemicals that strip the skin of essential oils which help to maintain a healthy complexion. This can lead to skin dryness, discomfort and a breakdown of the skin’s natural barriers which usually protect it.

Keeping with the crowd

The second reason for a the rise in natural skin care products such as organic shower gels is that ‘natural’ and ‘organic’ have become fashionable buzz words which reflect the trend to move away from man-made, fabricated products and move towards naturally produced ones which are often also ethically produced. However with this fad has come a sudden influx of products being marketed as ‘natural’ that actually aren’t that natural at all. To make sure you are really getting the natural skin care product you are paying for, it’s worth looking at the individual ingredients. Here are a few of the ingredients you can expect to find in genuine natural skin care products such as natural shower gel and that they do for the skin:

  • Antioxidants – there are a number of natural ingredients which offer antioxidant properties, thus protecting the skin from damage from environmental pollutants. Amongst them are Vitamin C (sometimes referred to as Citrus Extracts), Green Tea Extract, White Tea Extract, Pomegranate and Sea Algae.
  • Moisturisers – there are also a number of ingredients which help to re-hydrate the skin naturally. Look out for natural skin care items which contain Olive Oil, Aloe Vera, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter.
  • Skin Calming ingredients – there are a few natural ingredients that help to calm and sooth the skin such as Chamomile and Cucumber.
  • Cell Regeneration – Vitamin A is a natural ingredient that helps to stimulate cell renewal. This process means that newer, fresher skin cells are produced by the body which help to push away the older skin to leave a healthier complexion.
  • Skin Repair – Vitamin E is a natural ingredient that aids the skin’s natural healing process to leave healthier looking skin.
  • Nutrition – there are a number of different natural minerals that promote strong, healthy skin so look out for them on labels of organic or natural skin care products too.

All round skin care

As well as choosing a natural skin care regime such as natural shower gel or organic shower gel, to leave your skin looking and feeling healthy, there are a few other things you can do too. Firstly, by eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, you can help to maintain healthy, radiant skin from within. Secondly, water is a must. The recommendation is to drink two litres of water a day to maintain perfectly hydrated skin. Finally exercise is another way of maintaining healthy skin. It is recommended to do thirty minutes of exercise a day for optimum health – this doesn’t mean a daily trip to the gym as brisk walking and even vacuuming will increase your heart rate.

Helpful Home Cures for Boils

Boil, also called furuncle, is an infection of the hair follicles characterized by dead skin and pus. It is generally a harmless skin disease but not very pleasant to look at, and can easily bother the person who has it. Boil can heal by itself in a few weeks, but if you want to get rid of it faster, you can use home cures for boils.

Boils can be painful and very unattractive to look at. Nevertheless, it is easily curable. Below are some of the most widely used home cures for this skin problem.

1. Cornmeal

This remedy is so old that in fact the Aztecs had used it during the ancient civilization. Boil half a cup of water and add cornmeal. Stir and make the mixture into a paste and then apply it to the boil. Cover with a piece of cloth and leave for about 15 minutes. Do this every two hours until the boil drains.

Helpful Home Cures for Boils2. Onion

Onion has antiseptic properties that can draw blood from the boil. It also helps make the area “hot,” which could cause the boil to burst. Simply cut a slice of fresh onion and place it on the boil. You can opt to wrap it with cloth and let it stay for a couple of hours, or until such time the boil comes to a head.

3. Milk

Mix a cup of milk with 3 teaspoons of salt. Make sure that the salt is well mixed with the milk. Heat the mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Then add flour to add thickness. Once the preparation is ready, apply to the boil every 30 minutes.

4. Bacon

Bacon has high fat and salt content, which are useful in getting rid of boils. Roll a slice of bacon in a plate of salt. Then wrap it in a very thin cloth and apply to the boil. This should help drain the boil. Repeat the process until the boil comes to a head.

Now this herbal remedy does not require topical application but instead will be taken as a drink. Because nutmeg can stimulate circulation of blood in the body, it can help fight bacterial infections thus helpful in getting rid of boils. Just ground a teaspoon of nutmeg and pour into a cup of hot water, stir well and drink. Do this twice a day for best results.

How To Cure Dull And Stressed Out Skin

How To Cure Dull And Stressed Out SkinIf your skin looks dull and stressed out, you probably need to stop and look closer. These problems could be indicative of the aging process. If you don’t do anything to cure these problems, skin aging will eventually worsen.

The following tips can help you cure dull and stressed our skin:

1. Treat your skin to an anti aging mask.

Blend half a cup of strawberries, one small banana, a tablespoon of olive oil and two tablespoons of lemon juice. Apply the mask on your skin and leave it there for about an hour. Wash it off with lukewarm water after the allotted time.

Deep-colored berries like strawberries are ideal sources of antioxidants. They can fight harmful free radicals. As you know, free radicals tend to damage cells in the body resulting to the prevalence of stressed out skin. You can use banana to immediately rejuvenate the dermis. It contains potassium that can immediately improve the countenance of your dermis. Olive oil contains oleic acid that can improve the permeability of the dermis. You also need lemon juice to get rid of damaged skin tissues and improve the vibrancy of your skin tone.

2. Steam your face.

At least twice a week, steam your face. This will help open up your pores. When pores are open, you can easily cleanse it and get rid of dirt and grime in the pores. Cleansing products usually cannot penetrate deeper into the pores to extract dirt and grime.

3. Try applying a good anti aging moisturizer in the morning and before going to sleep.

A good anti aging moisturizer can help you maintain the resilient functions of your dermis. This can also help heal damaged skin tissues if you have any. But I suggest looking for a product that has been incorporated with natural ingredients such as CynergyTK, Phytessence Wakame and Extrapone Nutgrass.

CynergyTK is an ingredient that has been taken from sheep wool. This is a good source of keratin. Keratin is vital for the lubrication of collagen fibers. It can maintain the elastic nature of the skin.

Phytessence Wakame is a kind of Japanese sea kelp. This sea kelp can fight the bad effects of harmful enzymes. These enzymes tend to break down hyaluronic acid, the acid that lubricates collagen fibers.

Extrapone Nutgrass is helpful because of its whitening properties. It can whiten your skin tone by up to 45% during the first two weeks of use so you can immediately have bright and fresh skin.
